Billy Ray Askew

Mr. Billy R. Askew has been involved with Agricultural Education for over 25 years, but his agricultural roots go way beyond. Raised on a tobacco farm in Beaufort County, he learned the value of hard work and earning what you get. Those core values along with his commitment to share his love for all things associated with agriculture drives him daily. He taught at Northside High School in Beaufort County, taking over the program from his high school agriculture teacher. He then started and led the Agribusiness program at Beaufort County Community College for eight years before coming to NERSBA Early College in 2021 to teach Landscaping and Agriculture Mechanics. He was named Principal in July of 2021.

In addition to his duties at school, Mr. Askew serves as a minister in the independent Christian churches. He is also active with Belhaven 509 A.F. & A.M. When not at work, he is an avid gardener, beekeeper, husband and dad. If he can squeeze it in, he loves to fish!
