Valerie Neal

Welcome

Mrs. Neal has had an eclectic educational career. She has taught children from kindergarten through high school. She has worked with children with varying disabilities for the majority of her career which began in the Pitt County School System.

After attending North Carolina Wesleyan College (University) and receiving her Master’s degree from East Carolina University, Mrs. Neal embarked on a career that would bring her great fulfillment. Teaching has allowed her to work with students where she finds something positive within each student. She fondly remembers the teachers who made a lasting impression on her and inspired her to push harder and go farther. The term, “No child left behind” has been a rallying cry of hers for close to 40 years. She was inducted into the East Carolina University Educator’s Hall of Fame in 2004, where she hopes this small accomplishment will inspire future educators to bring their passion, personality, and sense of humor to the classroom and teach the next generation. She is excited to be with the NERSBA family to continue her passion.

On a personal note, Mrs. Neal lives in Pitt County with her husband and two wonderful children.
