Mr. Hallet Davis has served as a professional educator for a total of forty-four years in northeastern North Carolina. Prior to serving as the Executive Director of the NERSBA Early College, Mr. Davis was employed by Martin County Schools as an Agricultural Education Teacher/FFA Advisor at Bear Grass School, beginning his teaching career in 1979. In June of 1993, Mr. Davis transitioned to the principal at Bear Grass School, serving in that role until June of 2010.

Mr. Davis supported instructional objectives of Soil and Water Management and Natural Resources Conversation within his program area with students actively participating the North Carolina FFA Land judging Contest Events. A number of his teams earned the opportunity to participate in the National FFA Land, Range and Pasture Judging Contest held annually in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

During the 2010-2011 school year, Mr. Davis served as the Director of Secondary Education with Martin County Schools, working to facilitate the transitional development of Riverside and South Creek High Schools.

In March of 2012, Mr. Davis was named as the principal of the state’s initial regional school, the Northeast Regional School of Biotechnology and AgriScience which was located at the Vernon James Center in Roper, NC. Mr. Davis continued serving as the principal of the school until July of 2021 when he was named as the Executive Director of the school where he continues to serve students from Martin, Washington, Tyrrell and Pitt counties in that role today.

Mr. Davis attained an Associates’ in Science Degree from Martin Community College in May of 1977 prior to transferring to North Carolina State University where he received an undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education in 1979. Mr.Davis continued to attain his educational goals and professional career objectives by receiving a Masters’ In Education Degree from North Carolina State University in 1985. In 1986, Mr. Davis was awarded a Sixth Year Degree in Agricultural and Vocational Education from North Carolina State University.

In August of 1987, Mr. Davis began working to attain credentials and licensure in Educational Administration and Supervision at East Carolina University where he has utilized this training throughout his current career as a scholastic administrator.  Mr. Davis also completed credentials in the North Carolina Principals’ Executive Program conducted through the University of North Carolina Institute of Government in 1998.

Mr. Davis continues to be excited and eager to work with NERSBA scholars, parents, faculty and friends who call the NERSBA Early College their “home.” Mr. Davis was elected to the Martin County Board of Supervisors for the Martin County Soil and Water Conservation District in November of 2022.
