Christi Rogerson

Welcome

Mrs. Christi Rogerson is a native of the Farm Life community in Martin County. She worked on the family farm in tobacco, corn, peanuts and soybeans. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Atlantic Christian College (Barton College) where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics.  Mrs. Rogerson earned her Master’s degree of Education in Mathematics from East Carolina University.  As a graduate assistant scholar, Mrs Rogerson taught College Algebra at ECU while working on her degree. 

In July 1989, Mrs. Rogerson began her teaching career with Washington County Schools (WCS).  She taught Mathematics at Plymouth High School (PHS) for 24 years. Throughout her career at PHS, Mrs. Rogerson taught multi-levels of mathematics courses including Algebra I, Geometry, Advanced Functions and Modeling (AFM), and Pre-Calculus. She served on the School Leadership Team, PHS Academic Booster Club Board of Directors, Math Club Advisory team, Beginning Teacher Mentor program, and Washington County-North Carolina Association of Educators leadership team.  During her tenure, Mrs. Rogerson was recognized as a North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics(NCCTM) Outstanding Secondary Mathematics Teacher.  During her tenure in WCS, Mrs. Rogerson was awarded the Golden Apple Award, the Star Teacher Award, the PHS and the WCS Teacher-of-the-Year.

In August 2013, Mrs. Rogerson joined NERSBA as a Mathematics teacher. She taught Foundations of Math, Math I, Math II, and Math III.  As an adjunct instructor with Martin Community College, Mrs. Rogerson taught Math 171(College Algebra) and Math 172 (Pre-Calculus). She was a NERSBA National Honor Society co-advisor, Beginning Teacher Mentor, and NERSBA Teacher-of-the-Year. 

In 2020, Mrs. Rogerson retired from NERSBA after 32 years as a North Carolina mathematics teacher.  In July 2022, she returned to NERSBA to mentor new teachers, tutor math students, and teach math classes.  Mrs. Rogerson continues to share her love of mathematics and to encourage students to “Never Settle for Less than Their Best!”  She is thankful and excited to be a part of NERSBA.

Mrs. Rogerson resides in Washington County with her husband, Rodney. She has two adult children, Christopher and Lauren. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
