Christy Twiddy

Mrs. Christy Twiddy joined the NERSBA team in January 2026. A native of Washington County, she recently returned to the area with her husband, Chris, and their two Labrador retrievers, Bleu and Chapel.

Mrs. Twiddy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has more than 17 years of experience teaching mathematics. She began her teaching career with Washington County Schools in 1991 at Creswell Middle School before spending two and a half years teaching at Plymouth High School, her alma mater.

Prior to joining NERSBA, Mrs. Twiddy taught Math I, Math II, and Math III at D.H. Conley High School in Pitt County Schools for more than 13 years. In addition to her career in education, she has over nine years of experience in the insurance industry, working as a claims adjuster for State Farm and Travelers.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Twiddy enjoys relaxing at Emerald Isle, where she can often be found under her Shibumi enjoying the beach. She also loves listening to live music, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Twiddy is excited to be part of the NERSBA team and is committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
